Well sometimes I live this way. I do not watch the news, I don't follow politics. In part I think this is good but then it also could be bad.
I don't follow the ways of the world because most of the time I find it too depressing. I try to stay in my little corner of the world dealing with my own circle of life issues. Those take up most of my time anyway. A lot of things can be seen on social media too ie. Facebook. Sometimes the media also fabricates things or doesn't portray them correctly either. It's like how are we supposed to make educated, informed decisions about what is going on without accurate information.
Most people have a smart phone to have the social media apps. So, what is their excuse as to why they don't follow rules or laws? Maybe they don't use the phrase Ignorance is bliss. Maybe they just truly are ignorant? Like the people in the stores randomly licking items or ice cream. Like the people who are not following the Shelter-In-Place or Quarantine yourself rules of no gatherings other than those who live in your home?
I have a 3 week old infant, a 2 year old and other kids whose immune systems most likely wouldn't fight this virus. I do not want anyone else in my home or around closer than 6 feet giving us their germs. We don't know who or what people have come into contact with until it's too late and people are sick. Why don't people listen?
It's not like I would really be doing anything different than staying home anyway. I think though that being told not to go places really puts a heavy burden on some people. Like for example my Oma is 93. She loves to drive her car to stores every day and she has no hobbies. So, taking away her driving to these stores because of a virus that could kill her is keeping her in her home. She is cooped up with nowhere to go. I'm sure she is going nuts. I sent her a book for her to leave her legacy for us to read. Having a newborn makes me less likely to want to leave the house anyway but now knowing that there is a virus that I could get and give to my kids, I'm really not going anywhere. I am the one who has to do the food shopping so I leave ALL the kids with my husband and I bring lots of hand sanitizer and I don't touch my face while I'm out. I also try to put my keyfob in my pocket so I can touch it through my pants pocket.
I never thought in a million years that we would ever experience anything like this. But you know what? I knew something would come. Society has been drifting further and further away from God. Trying to take One Nation Under God out of the pledge, trying to remove God from monuments etc. God is making us realize that we better turn to Him before it's too late. Believe it or not this will just pass for most people and they won't try to strengthen relationships with God or anyone else that they live with. But on the day of Judgement they will wish that they fostered their relationship with God or even received salvation.
Food for thought:
1 Chronicles 21:14-30: I just included verse 14 but I would go to biblegateway.com and read the rest.
14
So the Lord sent an epidemic on the people of Israel, and seventy thousand of them died.
